Carhartt WIP

Heatwave: New Climate And Cultural Context

This is an exploration of how climate changes and redefines utility. In this project, together with Carhartt WIP, I deep dive into streetwear’s main currency, relevance, and take cues from vintage apparel and music.

The main driver for change, apart from Earth’s increasing surface temperature, is the new consumer: they are more informed than ever, and care what they buy, not only because of the perceived status of a purchase, but also because of its environmental impact.

Thought techniques of lightening the material, widening the cut, and strategically placing openings, I re-introduce the brand’s identity in a way, more sustainable and suitable for our new environment.

Here, you will see new renditions of classical trims, heritage fabrics, and washes, which make both visual and functional impact on the collection. Of course, I have also built a palette and graphic range to match the streetwear style and elevate the product.

Enjoy the collection!
